Our Story

2014 – 2016

1. ACTO as a mobile learning platform

In 2014, ACTO was founded by Parth Khanna (Chief Executive Officer), Kapil Kalra (Chief Revenue Officer), and Kumar Erramilli (Chief Technology Officer). Starting off as an industry agnostic corporate training mobile app called ACTO, inspired by the phrase “Act Today”, the unique solution offered dynamicity and automation to training programs. It also offered engagement tracking and provided insights to managers.

2017 – 2019

2. From mobile learning to Commercialization Cloud for Life Sciences

In early 2017, due to ACTO’s advanced design to support technical training, maintain records and track progress, ACTO was deemed the perfect fit for a highly regulated and complex environment: the life sciences industry.

By December 2018, Parth, Kapil and Kumar deeply analyzed over 5,700 pharmaceutical and medical device sales rep behaviors, and talked to hundreds of industry specialists, to create ACTO’s Commercialization Cloud for Life Sciences: the only one-stop-shop sales, marketing, and training platform that helps global pharma, medical device, and dental companies increase rep effectiveness, message consistency and build a culture of continuous learning while helping stay compliant.

2020 – Present

3. Omnichannel Education and Engagement for Life Sciences

In 2020, the company raised $11.5 million from Resolve Growth Ventures to advance its vision of building the world’s best omnichannel education and engagement ecosystem for life sciences. Today, in addition to driving sticky learning experiences for field teams, ACTO is launching a series of new capabilities designed to virtually engage and support patients and healthcare providers.

The company currently employs more than 100 people, with the strategic acquisition of Scrimmage and Co-health in 2020 adding to the count.
